Community information guidelines

Willoughby City’s branch libraries (excluding Chatswood Library) display a limited amount of general community information that is submitted from the public on external noticeboards. Our role is to facilitate access to essential information (including material in community languages) about health, law and more from key government agencies.

Essential information

We display important information from numerous government agencies. Council material is displayed to keep the community informed on activities within the Willoughby City LGA that impact them.

Newspapers and newsletters

Newspapers and newsletters from local organisations are available across all library locations.

Noticeboards

Noticeboards are available for general community information, including posters and flyers. Locations are Artarmon, Castle Cove, Naremburn, Northbridge and West Chatswood libraries. Noticeboards prioritise essential material from the Library and Council.

Submitting material for noticeboards

We decide what we can and can’t display using the following criteria.

We can display:

  • Information from community groups and not-for-profit organisations

  • Promotional material for community events

  • Government services information.

We can’t display:

  • Commercial advertising

  • Political material

  • Material that is defamatory, obscene and/or offensive.

Submit material that matches our criteria for noticeboards in person to any branch library. If you have a question about submitting material email library@willoughby.nsw.gov.au before sending it to us.
