Korean patchwork: Jogakbo

Discover how the tradition evolved from making wrapping cloths with leftover fabric scraps into a diverse range of contemporary textile projects, reflecting a long tradition of creativity and sustainable reuse. Using fabrics that allow light to shine through, you’ll create a beautiful stained-glass effect.

In this hands-on workshop, you’ll make a patchwork coaster using the gamchiljil (whip stitch) sewing technique and samsul (overlapped seam allowance) to finish the seams.

All materials are provided. No previous sewing experience is required.
