WhatsApp is a free, multi-platform messaging app that allows users to connect with others through text messages, voice calls, and video calls using a Wi-Fi connection. It is one of the most popular social networking platforms worldwide, with over two billion active users.

In this workshop, you will learn:

  • What is WhatsApp
  • How to download and install it
  • How to register for WhatsApp
  • How it works e.g. video calls, chats, groups chats, calls, contact list
  • Safety tips on using WhatsApp

Be Connected is an Australian government initiative committed to increasing the confidence, skills and online safety of older Australians. This workshop is presented in conjunction with volunteers from Acoustic Blinds and Curtains, a Be Connected partner, and is based on Be Connected resources.
