English conversation classes

Elementary, pre-intermediate and intermediate English conversation classes are held for free during school terms.

Please note:

  • if you do not attend the class twice, your place will be cancelled and re-filled
  • you can only join one class per school term
  • if the class is booked out, please check back as places may become available during the term.

Mode: Face-to-face.

Elementary - Thursdays (9:30am-11am)

Suitable for students who know the alphabet, have basic English vocabulary, and have knowledge of basic grammar. They can say simple greetings, ask and answer questions about personal details, e.g. where he or she lives, things he or she has, his or her phone number in English.

Elementary - Fridays (9:15am-10:45am)

Suitable for students who know the alphabet, have basic English vocabulary, and have knowledge of basic grammar. They can say simple greetings, ask and answer questions about personal details, e.g. where he or she lives, things he or she has, his or her phone number in English.

Pre-intermediate - Fridays (11am-12:30pm)

Suitable for pre-intermediate level students with minimum social proficiency. Students have some English vocabulary and knowledge of grammar. They can converse with others in short English sentences in limited situations (e.g. shopping and local geography). They can interact in a simple way provided the other person speaks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help. They can read and write simple English.

Intermediate - Mondays (9:30am-11am)

Suitable for intermediate level students with minimum vocational proficiency. Students can converse with others in English on familiar matters regularly encountered. They can describe experiences and events and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans.
