Chopsticks or Fork? A celebration of Australia’s regional Chinese restaurants is an enchanting collection of stories and recipes from Chinese restaurants across regional Australia, inspired by the acclaimed ABC series of the same name.
This book captures the unique narratives of ten different families running Chinese restaurants, stretching from Queensland's Hervey Bay to Western Australia's Dunsborough, and features 32 classic Australian Chinese recipes.
Jennifer and Lin Jie will share stories from the book and their experiences travelling around Australia, and will be joined by special guests Deirdre Aftanas and Michael Pingonm who were Chinese restaurant kids in the 1950s. The siblings' parents, Elaine and Peter Pingon, ran the Sun On Chinese Restaurant in Miranda, where they were the only Asian family, and their story is featured in Chopsticks or Fork?.
Don’t miss this chance to explore the rich culinary tapestry of Australian-Chinese cuisine!
Copies of the book will be available for sale on the day. Please note that only card payments will be accepted.
