Join John Flint as he describes the landscape, people, and monuments of Gore Hill Memorial Cemetery in his new book.


John was Librarian at Willoughby City Library in 1975 when the Cemetery closed and has an intimate and unique knowledge of its history.​The book was published in 2024 by the Friends of Gore Hill Cemetery and is on sale for $30.

This event includes:

  • Introduction by Reg Mu Sung (President of Friends of Gore Hill).
  • Talk by Tim James.
  • Author talk by John Flint.
  • Q&A session.

About Gore Hill Memorial Cemetery:

The Gore Hill Memorial Cemetery is a heritage-listed cemetery located on the Pacific Highway in St Leonards, Sydney, Australia. It was established on 19 May 1868 by the New South Wales politician, William Tunks, and is one of the oldest and most significant remaining cemeteries in metropolitan Sydney.
