Challenge your mind and have some fun at our 2-day cryptic crossword workshop during the Seniors Festival 2025.


Meet new people, share your passion for puzzles and crack the code of tricky crossword clues!

Over 2 engaging sessions Sydney’s own cryptic crossword wizard, Ralph Penglis, will guide you through the world of cryptic clues.

Beginners with no prior experience will enjoy the art of wordplay and decoding clues just as much as experienced puzzlers who want to refine their skills and pick up new strategies – this workshop is for all crossword lovers of all levels!

You’ll learn how to:

  • Understand cryptic crossword clues - break down the language and discover the hidden meanings.
  • Crack the code - spot wordplay, hidden answers, and tricky devices.
  • Use solving strategies - gain valuable tips and tricks for improving your crossword-solving skills.

One ticket covers entry to both sessions. You must be available to attend both sessions.

Sessions:

  • Session 1: Saturday 1 March 2025 | 10am – 12pm
  • Session 2: Saturday 8 March 2025 | 10am – 12pm
