Join author Glenda Gartrell for a thought-provoking conversation.

In celebration of the Seniors Festival, Glenda Gartrell will discuss her book Getting On With It, focusing on themes of sexuality and aging.

The conversation will take you on a journey from her childhood in regional New South Wales to 1970s Sydney. During this time, she encountered trailblazers of the second wave women's movement, greatly influencing her perspective in the process.

Through compelling personal stories, Glenda explores the transformative social changes that shaped women's lives, such as the advent of the contraceptive pill and the rise of political activism. She also highlights the delayed access to higher education that many women faced.

This talk is an opportunity to reflect on how these issues continue to resonate today. Topics will include the relevance of online dating and the idea that age is no barrier to meaningful connections.
