Bookmark competition - Year of the Snake (0-18 years)

Celebrate the Year of the Snake by showcasing your creativity!

How the competition works: 

1. Pick up an entry form: Visit any Willoughby City Library branch to pick up a form or download one here.(PDF, 337KB)  

2. Design your bookmark: Create a bookmark design that reflects the theme Year of the Snake.

3. Include your details: Remember to fill in your name, age and phone number on the entry form.

4. Submit your entry: Return your completed bookmark design to any Willoughby City Library branch by Sunday 27 April 2025.

Judging criteria

Entries will be judged by our childrens librarians. Prizes will be awarded based on creativity, artistic skill and how well the entries adhere to the theme.

Prizes and recognition

Winners will be contacted by Friday 9 May 2025. The first names, ages and winning designs will be published on the Willoughby City Library website, and the designs will be printed and distributed as bookmarks. First place winners will receive a $30 gift voucher prize.

Age categories for prizes

5 and under, 6–7 years, 8–10 years, 11–12 years, 13–15 years and 16–18 years.

Visitor information

Children under the age of 11 should be supervised by someone over 18 at all times in the Library.

We follow NSW Health guidelines for the health and safety of our community and staff. Please read our Behaviour in the Library and Unaccompained children guidelines before your visit.

Images may be used on Council websites, publications, social media channels and circulated to the press and other media organisations for publication, transmission or broadcast. If you do not wish your image to be published, please notify staff.
