Northbridge Bowling Club

Warners Park, The Outpost, Northbridge

The land on which the Club was built formed part of Reg Warner’s “Waratah” dairy farm from 1914 until the 1940s, when it was gifted to Willoughby Council for the purpose of establishing a park. The Northbridge Bowling Club was formed in May 1949 by local residents, although the bowling greens would not be opened until 1953. The clubhouse opened on April 24, 1954.

As women were not permitted to bowl with the men, the Northbridge Women’s Bowling Club was formed in 1957. A separate green was built, and in 1961 the ladies got a clubhouse of their own. The two clubs continued side by side until they were eventually combined in 2001 with the Club closing in 2015.
