The Willoughby (Hotel)
Corner Penshurst & McMahon Streets, Willoughby
This Free Classical Style hotel was built in 1899 on land acquired by Tooth and Co. The original proprietor was James Smith. Joseph Knight Smith who followed him in 1901 bought the adjoining Assembly Hall and converted it into a Billiard Hall with two shop frontages. He managed the hotel until 1928. Recent refurbishment has returned the hotel to its former elegance.
