2022 Francis Webb Reading

MainImage.jpg
Join us at Chatswood Library for our next reading of Francis Webb!

This annual event returns after a 2-year hiatus to pay tribute to one of Australia's most talented poets.

Francis Webb (1922-1973) grew up in North Sydney and attended St Pius X College and Christian Brothers' College Lewisham before joining the RAAF and publishing his first poems in The Bulletin to instant and lasting acclaim.

MC and editor of Webb's Collected Poems Toby Davidson will be joined by Webb's biographer Michael Griffith and poets, scholars, artists and student representatives from St Pius X College and CBC Lewisham to read and discuss Webb's visionary poetry.

Selected titles from Webb's personal book and art collection, held at Willoughby Library, will also be on display.

Visiting Chatswood Library: We follow NSW Health guidelines for the health and safety of our community and staff. Please read our Conditions of Entry and Unaccompanied children guidelines before your visit.
