Aboriginal astronomy with Will Stevens

MainImage.jpg
Join us at Chatswood Library for a very special all-ages Aboriginal astronomy talk with Muruwari man Will Stevens!

Learn from Muruwari man and Aboriginal Astronomer Will Stevens as he teaches us about the role of stars in Aboriginal society. Will shows us where they are located and what they mean in Aboriginal culture.

Will Stevens is a Muruwari man who specialises in Aboriginal culture and focuses on the cultural stories that relate to the stars. Will has over 17 years’ experience in teaching Aboriginal culture, which he has accumulated from learning from his family, elders, community knowledge holders and research into his heritage. Will has worked at Sydney Observatory, Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority and Taronga Zoo as a cultural guide and is currently working at TAFENSW as an Aboriginal Student Support Officer.
