Be Connected - Introduction to smart homes

Ever wondered how technology can help you with your day-to-day tasks?

This session explores the benefits of smart homes. Learn how to safely set up a smart speaker by training it to recognise your voice, and how you can use a smart TV to watch catch-up TV or movies.

This workshop covers:

  • What is smart home technology
  • How to set up smart home technology
  • Using a voice assistant
  • Using smart home devices
  • Using smart TVs
  • TV, movie and music streaming services.

Be Connected is an Australian government initiative committed to increasing the confidence, skills and online safety of older Australians. This workshop is presented in conjunction with volunteers from Acoustic Blinds and Curtains, a Be Connected partner, and is based on Be Connected resources.

This event is part of the Be Connected Grant Funded program. To join this event, you need to be 50+ years and complete a 2-minute survey for Be Connected statistical purposes only.
