Learn how to research your trip and book travel.

The key to the success of any trip is in the planning! This course will show you some top tips and techniques for researching your holiday online. You’ll learn how to use comparison websites to find the best deals and how to check reviews for hotels, day trips and tours to ensure they are right for your holiday.

This course also outlines the benefits of booking and paying for travel online. You’ll discover how you can save all of your bookings, tickets and boarding passes to your mobile device so you can easily access them while on the road. Importantly, this course will also show you how you can access your own finances when travelling at home and abroad.

This course covers:

  • How the internet can help you plan your next trip
  • Getting inspired
  • Choosing a destination
  • Finding important information
  • Keeping a virtual scrapbook
  • Travel agent or DIY?
  • How to use travel comparison websites
  • Importance of email and text messages for travel
  • Accessing your finances while travelling
  • Using your mobile phone to make travelling easier

This event is funded through Be Connected, an Australian government initiative. Be Connected is committed to building the confidence, digital skills and online safety of older Australians. In this course, you will be introduced to Be Connected resources and will be shown how to create a Be Connected account.

This training is presented by Macquarie Community College.

Participants will need to be aged 50 years or over and agree to complete a brief registration form (for statistical purposes only).
