Calm the mind as you work on a Sashiko piece in this special QSpace workshop.
You will be guided in the art of Sashiko, a traditional Japanese form of hand-stitching. It involves creating simple, stitching patterns, often on fabric, and can help with feeling more present, focused and calm. You’ll also walk away with a sense of accomplishment in creating your own sashiko-embelished piece.
No experience is necessary. You will only need to bring in an item of clothing you might want to embellish, like a well-loved shirt or a jacket.
This is an inclusive event hosted by Willoughby City Council for our lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and gender diverse, non-binary, intersex, questioning, queer, asexual and more (LGBTQIA+) people and others of diverse genders and sexualities, their families, friends and communities.
