Oakville Road, Willoughby Road
The North Sydney National Public School was established in Willoughby in1863 with Mrs Eliza Davies the first teacher. Later in 1863 the school moved to a two acre lot near the corner of Penshurst Street and Mowbray Road, donated in 1862 by William Lithgow. A further two acres were donated by Mr Reid and Mr McClelland in 1875. The Council of Education took over the school in 1875 and erected a new building of locally quarried stone in 1876. In 1891 the name of the school was changed to Willoughby Public School.
